The new PSC430dc colour scanner– adding scan and copy functionality to Rex-Rotary laser printers

Rex-Rotary, a leading provider of Total Document Solutions, strengthens its scanner range with the PSC430dc – providing small workgroups with MFP style flexibility by adding scan and copy functionality to its laser printers.

The PSC430dc from Rex-Rotary is a colour flatbed scanner that provides a reliable scanning and copying solution in the office.  Its flexibility satisfies a variety of needs required by small workgroups. For example, it can operate as a standalone scanner for the small office, a network scanner in a busy workgroup, or it can be directly connected to a Rex-Rotary printer to provide basic copying functionality. Offering competitive speeds, double-sided scanning and the ability to support paper sizes up to A3, the PSC430dc provides a cost effective-tool for the general office environment.

Network ready, the PSC430dc seamlessly integrates into existing document environments, providing a reliable network scanning solution. It can be connected to Rex-Rotary’s A3 colour and mono laser printers, such as the C7435n, C7010 and P7132n, to provide scan and copy functionality to small workgroups.

“This device is ideal for customers who want the option to add basic copier features at an affordable price to a compatible   Rex-Rotary laser printer, now and in the future,” explains Pui-Chi Li, Product Manager, Rex-Rotary.

Embedded ‘Scan-to-Email’ and ‘Scan-to-Folder’ enable documents to be distributed directly from the PSC430dc’s control panel to any specific email address or any folder on via the office network. For example, Scan-to-Email allows single or multi-page documents to be captured in the required format (PDF, JPEG, TIF) and then sent immediately to the recipient in one streamlined process.  This not only saves time and serves as a more secure method of circulation for users, who previously would have used more traditional forms of communication, such as fax.  These advanced technologies deliver a new and efficient means of communication, raising productivity levels and empowering users to distribute documents to colleagues and customers anywhere in the world.

High performance is a key feature of the PSC430dc, with high quality 600dpi resolution, a fast warm-up time and scanning speeds of 10 pages per minute (ppm) colour, 30ppm black and white. The PSC430dc’s versatile Automatic Reverse Document Feeder (ARDF) scans double-sided media at both A4 and A3 sizes.

When connected to a compatible Rex-Rotary printer, the two devices act as one to offer extended functionality - as well as print and scan, the linked devices also copy at a speed in line with your printer.  In addition they take on all the paper handling features of the printer, such as double-sided output. This not only saves costs, but minimizes environmental impact through the reduction of paper usage.

Rex-Rotary’s latest scanner has Ethernet, USB 2.0 plus an integral Network Interface Card as standard – ensuring seamless integration with all major networks.  Optional Wireless LAN adds further flexibility, enabling connection with the latest generation of wireless networks.

The PSC430dc includes a range of supporting software, allowing users to utilize its flexibility and performance. DeskTopBinder enables multiple documents to be scanned and saved as one file on their network, providing a quick and easy way to manage documents. Other valuable software such as Web Status Monitor gives Network Administrators the ability to remotely monitor the status of the scanner via a simple browser window. This allows Network Administrators to easily manage the PSC430dc and maintain up-time.
